There are three kinds of energy for laser processing:
Reflection: the reflection of the material on the laser is generally not conducive to eliminate the material, such as CO2 processing copper foil, it is necessary to brown or black copper foil, reducing the reflectivity.
Transformation: conversion refers to the process of processing, the laser energy will be converted into other forms of energy, such as thermal energy, chemical energy.
Absorption: the absorption of materials on the laser is the key factor in the design, in general, the higher the absorption rate, the higher the processing efficiency, the better the effect.
For CO2 lasers, copper is a highly reflective material, and almost all of the laser is reflected without being absorbed; the reflected light returns to the laser, causing harm. Therefore, most of the cutting metal material is selected as a fiber laser rather than a carbon dioxide laser.
